Dissertation approved :)

by Lilia Efimova on April 2, 2009

Actually I don’t have any official papers yet, but I know that a feedback from all members of the PhD committee is in place and positive. So – I can prepare the dissertation for printing and myself for the PhD defense :)

Other things you might want to know:

  • PhD defense will be at 16:15 on 22 June 2009 in Utrecht University and it’s open
  • I’m trying to release the dissertation under Creative Commons licence; it will be available online, most likely in May

It feels funny that I’ve got all the congratulations on Twitter last night, while only a few of my colleagues know so far and I haven’t told my mom yet. I wrote on Twitter that I was dancing around when I’ve heard the news, but actually I cried while my heart was dancing inside. I’m still not sure what’s more in it – being happy or being relieved (if you have someone around finishing their PhD go and hug them).

Congratulations! I am of course green with envy, but it also gives me hope that I may finish as well. I’ll be looking forward to reading the thesis online :)
