How to advise EU and do research in other countries

Jill Walker:

Did you know an individual can sign up as a potential expert advisor to the EU's research programs? You register your field, what you'd be willing to do (review proposals, monitor existing programs, etc) and if they need someone in your area they might contact you. The workload would be up to 10 days a year with pay and expenses and trips to Brussels.

Thought that it was worth spreading further. If you sign as a reviewer EU funding choices could become less dependent on "background plays" and personal networking :)

Btw, you may also check research fellowships info for funding opportunities of doing part of your research in other EU countries. For example, there are some vacancies for Convergence, Digital Media&Innovation: The Internet and Digital 'Content' Applications and European Doctoral Training in Social Representations and Communication studies. You have to be EU national or have 5+ years staying in EU counties (so, I can't apply ;(

Seriousely speaking, does anyone know how to arrange for a few month research visit to another country? I'd love to do that somewhere next year.
