Weblogs in business: why not

by Lilia Efimova on October 1, 2003

[I found this post in drafts in April 2008, decided to post anyway]

The will to publish by Richard MacManus was waiting it’s time the whole day (read it yourself and don’t forget a follow-up by Seb).

Richard asks why people would write to the Web, and then comes to a motivation to write k-logs within a company:

Guardian Unlimited: Why blogs could be bad for business

I believe this is the main question to be answered if we want to use weblogs as a knowledge management tool.

Writing to a weblog has to become a part of everyday work. For example, for:

  • capturing ideas before the fly away (and as a reminder)
  • organising ideas
  • keeping track of reading
